Tomm Hulett, the producer of Silent Hill: Downpour, has announced during Konami’s Gamescom press conference that the upcoming Silent Hill HD Collection will now also be coming to the Xbox 360 in an announcement that probably sent fans of the series who use an Xbox into a state of hysteria. For those not in know, the collection consists of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 remastered with 720p graphics, an updated voiceover and a soundtrack score enhancement that was previously only announced for the PlayStation 3 so the fact that it is coming to the Xbox 360 is a major achievement that was partly down to the fans.

The Silent Hill HD Collection is going to be one of the highlights of the gaming year for me

Tomm Hulett mentioned at Gamescom that the reason that the collection was now finding its way on the Xbox 360 was due to the fan response to the original announcement of the PlayStation 3 version so you can give yourself a pat on the back for all your good work in bringing this game to the 360. The release date is not concrete with Konami saying it will drop in “September or October” but they did confirm that they are “aiming” to release the Silent Hill HD Collection on both of the consoles simultaneously.

I now don’t know which console I will get the collection but I will have it one way or another. What about you? Which is your console of choice for this title?

I'm a big gaming fan who has been playing games since ever since Pokemon Yellow was released in the year 2000. I'm just glad that there are decent rugby games on the PS3 now after years of nothing. I need another Uncharted game...NOW!!!!!
