For all you FIFA fans out there, you may be excited to learn that today Electronic Arts Inc announced one of its new projects, “FIFA Street”. The game is meant to be as authentic as possible and simulate street soccer with never before seen realism.
Matt Bilbey, Vice President and GM of Soccer, EA SPORTS shared these words about the game:
“This is the first time our award-winning FIFA development team is creating a street soccer game, and we are going to deliver a level of authenticity never before seen in this genre, along with amazing gameplay.”
“FIFA Street will appeal to new fans that are looking for a unique, fun soccer experience, and long-time FIFA fans looking for an authentic street soccer experience with the level of quality that they know and love from the FIFA franchise.”
According to EA, you can expect the same high quality graphics and mechanics you’ve enjoyed from their previous FIFA games. In fact the game will be using the same FIFA soccer gameplay engine.EA claims superior fidelity of ball control and more responsiveness than anything ever experienced in a soccer video game.
On top of that you can look forward to some all new gameplay mechanics as well. Street dribbling, aerial skills to maneuver past opponents, over 50 all new skill moves, a one touch pass system, and intense trick moves for when you absolutely have to rub it in their face. Rub it in whose face? I’m glad you asked.
You can play against some of the most recognized stars in the world, real life street players, or your best friend down the block. Not really into the one on one action? That’s okay, because FIFA Street also has a 5v5 tournament scenario. EA promises this game will be a “social, connected experience”.
So where exactly does this game take place? All over the world! EA has mentioned over 35 different locations to play from Amsterdam to the streets of London. We’re told you will be able to battle it out in parking lots, parks, and the streets of some of the largest cities in the world.
We have even more good news for users of EA SPORTS Football Club. FIFA Street will be connected to your account, so you can start contributing to your Football Club identity as soon as you get your hands on it. Which brings us to the final question. When does this bad boy come out?
The game is scheduled to be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in the early months of 2012. Want it sooner? Buying an EA SPORTS Season Ticket will also get, as a bonus offer, full-game digital access to FIFA Street three days in advance of launch.
