Nintendo’s magic box (or migraine inducing child torture device, depending on which paper you read) seems to be steadily picking up the pace over the last few weeks, with a price drop imminent, an excellent loyalty program for existing owners and some must buy games on the way. Anyone still sitting on the fence or waiting for the Vita (seriously guys, it isn’t coming this year!) for their handheld fix may just now have another reason to take the plunge. Well, if they like the color red anyway.
Just as a red DS lite was launched alongside Mario Kart DS, this time Starfox 3DS is the title that ushers in with it, a passionate re-branding of our favorite battery-guzzler. It is unknown at present whether a bundle comprising the revamped N64 shooter and one of the new consoles will be made available (although this would be a VERY good idea) but for now the standalone 3DS will be available in red on the same day Star Fox 3DS ships in the US, September 9th. The price will be $169.99, the same as the other models. As of the writing of this article, no European release has been confirmed. Personally I like my handhelds in standard colors, so unless a white 3DS is confirmed it will be black all the way for me when I (hopefully!) get one this holiday period. What about you guys?
