You may remember a little Easter egg hidden in last year’s hit game, Heavy Rain. (spoiler alert) Located in the prologue section where main character Ethan loses his son in a shopping mall, (“Jason? Jason?? Jason???” – I’m sure you remember!) there was a poster in the window of a video games shop advertising a Quantic Dreams game called ‘Infraworld’. Now it seems like that game is being geared up for release.
The title has been registered by Sony as a trademark. Not necessarily confirmation it will be turned into a fully fledged game, but interesting as it was also the title of a Quantic Dreams game that was cancelled a while back. Could it be resurrected or is the name just being reused? If it is then don’t necessarily expect more interactive detective novels. David Cage has previously said that:
“I want to create a genre. I want to convince more people that [emotional gaming] is a valid direction for the industry; to show them that this was not just one product, one story. It’s a format that can be used to tell any kind of story in any genre with any tone. I would really like the opportunity to work on a different type of game. I would love to see if what we discovered could be applied to a first-person shooter, for example.”
As long as Madison Paige is involved, we’re in.
