Today David Jaffe gave us a bit of bad news in relation to Twisted Metal’s release date. Twisted Metal was supposed to release October 4th, 2011 but now we will have to wait till sometime in early 2012. The reason for the delay according to Jaffe is that the game needs more polish and while the game as it stands today is good they want it to be better. I can respect Jaffe and Eat Sleep Play for standing up and telling us and Sony that the game just isn’t ready. Hell its been a while since we have seen a Twisted Metal title so a few more months won’t make that big of a difference. Just make sure its good when it comes out Jaffe.
On a bit of good news though if you can make it to either Gamescom or Pax Prime, then you will be able to get your hands on it. At Gamescom and PAX they will be showing off a brand new level called Thrills & Spills Amusement Park! It’s filled with the over the top destruction, strategic level choices, and twisted humor that fans of the series have come to love and expect. Players at both shows will also get hands on with TEAM HUNTED, a brand new mode that we’ll be unveiling – for the first time ever – at Gamescom. They will also be premiering the new Dollface story trailer which delves into just what makes that nutty-but-sexy pink-haired freak tick.
Twisted Metal for PS3 will ship early 2012. Stay tuned for more details.
