New Rambo Video Games On The Way As Reef Entertainment Secures Licensing Rights

At this point Rambo, the classic 80’s action flick starring Sylvester Stallone often times takes lots of hits for being cheesy, but back then everybody loved those damn movies trust me. Through all of that the movie franchise has maintained a solid following and has pulled in a solid $600 million dollars worldwide. Rambo has had a few video game adaptions in the past but those basically flopped. The folk sat Reef Entertainment think there is potential there though and are sure that a Rambo game will be a success, and are developing a title based on the series set for next year.

Reef outbid other publishers to secure the rights to a Rambo game from film company StudioCanal, which will allow them to create and release a number of titles based on Sylvester Stallone’s movie series. They plan to attempt to make Rambo a  triple-A title on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and hope to capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action that made the movies so successful. You guys know how I feel about video game adaptations of movies, they almost never work but we will see if they can surprise us.
