Redbox Goes All-In On Video Game Rentals: Offers An Additional 5,000 Locations In August

You may recall back in June when we let you all know that Redbox would be jumping in with both feet on the video game rental market.  (If you forgot, catch up here.)  Well, we have even more good news for you Redbox fans, 5000 more locations are going to start carrying video game rentals on August 1, 2011.  Games will run at about $2 per night and are available at almost 33,000 locations nationwide.  (Check to see if there is one near you.)

The search feature on their website does allow you to find out what games are being carried at what Redbox location and if it is out of stock.  It has also be rumored that Redbox may jump into the streaming media business, though no time lines have been established.  Not sure about anyone else, but this seems to be the start of something good.

I started gaming when it was nothing more than green screens and clunky keyboards. Today, I play everything and anything that provides for a gaming experience. Good, bad, indifferent, and some times even ugly. I'm here to tell you whats up.
