Don't Blame The Games, Blame The People

Li Lin and Li Juan sold their baby girl for approximately $500 and then both of their sons for $4600 apiece. If you were wondering why the two boys went for so much more than the little girl is because is China boys are highly coveted due to the countries one-child policy. It officially restricts married, urban couples to having only one child, although it allows exemptions for several cases, including rural couples, ethnic minorities, and parents without any siblings themselves. The mother of Li Lin’s (the father) contacted officials after she had figured out what the couple had done and they were taken into custody. When questioned, the couple said that they didn’t know that selling their children so they could play video games all day was illegal if you can believe that. The couple’s own chilling words say it all:

“We don’t want to raise them, we just want to sell them for some money”

All I can say is wow, just wow.
