Verizon Does Not Know When The Original Droid Incredible Will Receive The Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update, But Still Provides A Solution

If you’re an owner of the original Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless, you know how long it can take to get an update. And it looks like the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update will take just as long as the Froyo update. We were a little excited when one representative stated that they expected the update to land before the end of the second quarter. However, that has come and gone, and while some reports have pegged the update to the summer timeframe, we can’t be excited about what their support Twitter account has just tweeted.

According to VZWSuport, “There is no date on when the Incredible will get Gingerbread.” Rather or not this is a Verizon issue or HTC issue is unclear. What is clear is the fact that Android updates suck. Not all of them, just the ones that have too much involvement from the carrier and manufacturer.
