Share And Comment

This past week EA Sports has been dropping tons of info about the top rated rookies in the game at several different positions and rather than do a bunch of short separate post about all of them we decided to combine them right here for you. So let’s get to it and tell you who the Top 10 rookies in Madden NFL 12 are at QB, WR, LB, DL and CB. Let’s start with the QB’s of course. Even though none of these guys made it into the Top 10 rookies overall in Madden NFL 12, they are still solid and as one might expect the #1 overall pick Cam Newton leads the QB’s though none crack the 80 OVR mark.

While you may not know a lot of the names on this list, I think there are some guys on this last that will make a huge impact on their teams this season if we have one. Besides the top two guys in Green and Jones, I think that Cobb will thrive in the Packers offense with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the rock and if Jonathan Baldwin can get his off the field stuff under control he may have the biggest breakout season of all.

Top 10 Rookie Defensive Lineman In Madden NFL 12

In terms of defense, this latest draft was pretty deep especially on the defensive line, there are more than a few guys on this list that will have huge impacts for their teams. Of the rookie DL, I think the story of this draft is going to be the Tampa Bay Bucs picking up both Clayborn and Bowers. Some teams were weary of Bowers medical issues and his durability but I don’t think its going to be as big an issue as folks made it out to be. You team him up with Clayborn and last year’s top pick Gerald McCoy and the Bucs should have a very imposing front line that can stop the run but that is still athletic enough to play in space.

10. Da’Quan Bowers – DE – TB – 74 OVR

9. Cameron Heyward – DE – PIT – 74 OVR

8. Phil Taylor – DT – CLE – 74 OVR

7. Corey Liuget – DE – SD – 75 OVR

3. Robert Quinn – DE – STL – 78 OVR

2. J.J. Watt – DE – HOU – 80 OVR

1. Marcell Dareus – DE – BUF – 82 OVR

Top 10 Rookie Linebackers In Madden NFL 12

At first glance the rookie LB class in Madden NFL 12 looks weak, especially after the first two pick but I beg to differ. While I do think that this class is short on explosive game changing LB’s like a Ray Lewis or Clay Matthews I do think this class is full of the solid “get it done” type guys who could play in this league a long time and be a solid contributor similar to a guy like London Fletcher, not extremely gifted physically but a student of the game that compensates for his lack of physical attributes by just being smarter than the other guy.

10. Bruce Carter – OLB – DAL – 67 OVR

9. Kelvin Sheppard – MLB – BUF – 67 OVR

8. Colin McCarthy – MLB – TEN – 67 OVR

7. Martez Wilson – MLB – NO – 68 OVR

6. Brooks Reed – OLB – HOU – 69 OVR

5. Casey Matthews – OLB – PHI – 71 OVR

4. Akeem Ayers – OLB – TEN – 72 OVR

3. Ryan Kerrigan – OLB – WAS – 74 OVR

2. Aldon Smith – OLB – SF – 76 OVR

1. Von Miller – OLB – DEN – 79 OVR

Top 10 Rookie Defensive Backs In Madden NFL 12

Last but not least, the Defensive Backs. Overall, this was actually a pretty good class for defensive backs which is traditionally a position that is not as deep as others and you find teams reaching a lot more and hoping that a guy works out. As you can see from their ratings, there are a lot of defensive back that are going to come into the league as rookies and be solid contributors from day one. I think that at a minimum the top 8 guys on this list make more than a few plays next season and if you are one of those guys that likes to start young and build a team up then I think there is definitely a lot of potential here.

10. Marcus Gilchrist – CB – SD – 69 OVR

9. Brandon Harris – CB – HOU – 70 OVR

8. Jaiquawn Jarrett – SS – PHI – 71 OVR

7. Chris Conte – FS – CHI – 71 OVR

6. Aaron Williams – CB – BUF – 71 OVR

5. Rahim Moore – FS – DEN – 73 OVR

4. Ras-I Dowling – CB – NE – 74 OVR

3. Jimmy Smith – CB – BAL – 76 OVR

2. Prince Amukamara – CB – NYG – 81 OVR

1. Patrick Peterson – CB – ARZ – 82 OVR

Alright folks, that’s it, it’s a wrap, a done deal, that’s all. So there you have it, the Top 10 rookie QB’s, WRs, DL, LBs and CBs. What do you think, which rookie are you most excited to play with?
