THQ Announces New Map Pack For Homefront: Welcome To The Rock

How many people out there actually remember the movie “The Rock”, you know the one with Ed Harris as a whacked out Marine and the old dude that used to be James Bond (Sean Connery), no?  Anyway, THQ has announced that this fall Homefront will be dropping a new map pack that includes Alcatraz Island (Also known as The Rock for those of you not keeping up) and a few other goodies.

Though no specific date has been identified by THQ, they have been nice enough to provide us this breakdown:

  • Alcatraz:  America’s most infamous prison becomes the site of fierce close-quarters fighting.
  • Bridge: A combined arms effort to secure the North Tower of the Golden Gate Bridge and surrounding area, large-scale warfare at its best!
  • Waterway:  Wage war atop storefronts and in the streets of the Spillway, where every inch feels like a mile.
  • Overpass:  Battle in a fan-favorite Ground Control space for the first time in Team Deathmatch!

Needlessly to say that if you didn’t get enough of destroying San Francisco the first time, the developers at THQ heard your telepathic wishes and have granted you four new playgrounds of localized mayhem to unleash on our fictional North Korean Occupiers.  And it will only run you 400 Microsoft points on Xbox 360.

As usual, we’ll hook you up with PS3 and remaining details once available, stay frosty.

I started gaming when it was nothing more than green screens and clunky keyboards. Today, I play everything and anything that provides for a gaming experience. Good, bad, indifferent, and some times even ugly. I'm here to tell you whats up.
