Hold on to your hats Spider-Man and X-Men fans as Activision and Marvel team up and come through with the goods at Comic-Con. As many are probably aware, Activision is set to release Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny later this year, however what most of you probably don’t know is the voice talent they have on board. (Someone brought out the big guns and wrote some hefty checks, but it’s obvious the fans are the true beneficiaries this time around.) Well, we got your Marvel world hook up on just who will be voicing the many parts of both of these outstanding comic based franchises and a few more details on the expected plots of both titles:

Spider-Man: Edge of Time
According to Activision, players will get to dive into the Spider-Man universe laying the roles of the Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099. (Confused yet?) Spider-Man: Edge of Time will propel gamers on a fast-paced adventure in which they must learn to use both Spider-Man characters together across time and space. (Still with me?) Against the backdrop of a rich, tightly crafted narrative by acclaimed Marvel veteran writer Peter David, the game features two individual timelines evolving in parallel, as well as “cause-and-effect” moments driven by the narrative.

Though this may sound confusing, Marvel and Activision together claim this to be an amazing experience for fans. To top it off, the voice talents of none other than Val Kilmer (Walker Sloan), Laura Vandervoort (Mary Jane), and Katee Sackhoff (Black Cat) will help in drawing players into the game.

X-Men Destiny
X-Men Destiny will ultimately allow gamers to control the fate of one of three new mutant characters that will be faced with a choice between saving humanity or ensuring its destruction. Players can customize their path, powers and development of their character and decide their role in the mutant cause alongside, or against, some of Marvel’s greatest X-Men franchise characters. Their mutant skills will evolve through a unique upgrade system that allows them to choose how they will mix and match the powers from their favorite X-Men and Brotherhood characters, then engage in fast and furious combat against a variety of opponents bent on defending their beliefs. As usual, Marvel looks to have another winner in the X-Men universe ready to drop this fall, but just to put some icing on the cake, Activision has announced that Milo Ventimiglia (Heros fame), Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch and The Hangover Part II fame), and Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights fame), will provide their stellar voices to the three newest class of mutants.

I started gaming when it was nothing more than green screens and clunky keyboards. Today, I play everything and anything that provides for a gaming experience. Good, bad, indifferent, and some times even ugly. I'm here to tell you whats up.
