Twisted Pixel Plans Free DLC For Ms. Splosion Man

Ms. Splosion Man developer Twisted Pixel is planning on offering players regular free DLC for its Xbox Live Arcade platformer and they are taking advantage of the Xbox 360’s Title Managed Storage feature to release new complimentary content. Now I know you’re thinking, “Microsoft doesn’t usually support free DLC”, but there is a loophole that allows developers to make relatively small changes to their titles via a small storage space on the Xbox Live servers with Super Meat Boy being one of the higher profile games to take advantage of this.

The game is the sequel to Splosion Man, the hit XBLA game from 2009

The free DLC for Ms. Splosion Man will include week-long challenges which take a level from the game and apply special rules and new content with each challenge having leaderboards. Twisted Pixel will offer prizes for those who come out on top so there is a lot of incentive to play the game (as if you didn’t have enough already).

“From time to time, we will be awarding real prizes and other fun stuff to the top finishers, and sometimes random players, from the Challenge’s leaderboards,” explained marketing director Jay Stuckwisch. “We are finding it harder and harder to ‘one up’ ourselves with new ways of giving away free stuff to people who buy our games, but TMS has opened an exciting new door for us.”

Ms. Splosion Man is out now on the Xbox Live Arcade.

I'm a big gaming fan who has been playing games since ever since Pokemon Yellow was released in the year 2000. I'm just glad that there are decent rugby games on the PS3 now after years of nothing. I need another Uncharted game...NOW!!!!!
