Google’s CEO, Larry Page, shared a few details about their new social networking product. Unless you’ve been under a rock in the ocean, you’ve undoubtedly heard about Google+. Today on the earnings call, Page revealed to shareholders that the new Facebook threat is making strides in its’ Private beta form. Here is a wrap up of the numbers Page shared – Over 10 million people are now on Google+, sharing over 10 billion items every day. And yes, Facebook has over 750 million. However, Google’s numbers are still impressive especially considering it’s only in private beta.
Additionally, Larry Page delivered numbers on the +1 button. Remember everyone trying to figure out where the need was for this button. Well that button is being clicked more than 2.3 billion times a day. So … click on that!
Some would say that Google’s new social strategy is a success. Maybe it is! However, we’ll let time run its’ course before the final decision is made. What are your thoughts? Google+ member yet?
