According to multiple reports, Pegatron, a Taiwan-based manufacturer, has received orders for 15 million iPhone 5 devices. Additionally, it’s been reported that the iPhone 5 is set to begin shipping in September. Whether or not that means shipments to customers or distribution channels is unknown. However, varying sources have already stated that the iPhone 5 should land in or around September or October.
One important thing to note from this report is the interchangeable tone used with the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, which would suggest that the devices are one in the same. Moreover, “the sources pointed out that … the iPhone 5 … does not seem to have any major update from … the… iPhone 4.” One way or the other, we’re all hoping to get another refresh of the iPhone this year, though we would love it to be a major overhaul. What are your thoughts? Excited?
