Both The iPhone 4S & iPhone 5 Will Launch This September – One As A New Model, The Other A Prepaid iPhone

Still unsure of whether Apple will release the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 this September? Well according to Chris Whitmore, an analyst at Deutsche Bank, Apple will release the iPhone 4S, along with the iPhone 5. The iPhone 4S as he notes, will “drive significantly greater penetration” by addressing the pre-paid market. Whitmore speculates that the iPhone 4S will be unlocked, and cost around $349. Sounds good? Yes, we know. This iPhone 4S should include modest improvement from the iPhone 4 and have the same look and design.

Additionally, Whitmore reports that we can expect a new model of the iPhone, which will be called the iPhone 5. This will be what consumers are more eager to see. Hopefully, this is the model that will include 4G LTE and near field communications (NFC) at the least.

RIM and Nokia’s warning are spoken clearly by Whitmore,

With Nokia and RIMM struggling the time is right for Apple to aggressively penetrate the mid range smart-phone market (i.e. $300-500 category) to dramatically expand its [total addressable market] and market share.

Though this is true, I think Google, and thus Android should be concerned as well.

So are you excited about this possibility? Should Apple push out two new iPhones at the same time to address different markets? Are you waiting to purchase one? Hit up the comments and let us know.
