Could these images possibly really be from Modern Warfare 3? At this point we don’t know, but here is what we are sure about. Yesterday in a forum thread over at Electric Hydra, a user with the handle “Powertree” posted 2 images which are allegedly early images for the next Call Of Duty game. As you can see the logo image looks pretty slick, the classic black and white words “call of duty” with the letters MW3 in a neon green color. The other image shows off a skull and crossbones setup that says “Call Of Duty Elite”. At this point nobody knows exactly what the elite part could be referring to but folks speculate that it could have something to do with Activision’s Project Beachhead which according to them will be a suite of services that take the Call Of Duty experience to new heights.
To keep the ball rolling, today Kotaku got their hands on an image that is alleged to the Modern Warfare 3 cover art. While the cover art seems to feature the same logo that leaked yesterday, the cover seems a bit simple and very similar to Battlefield 3. There is currently no word from Activision as to the authenticity of these images though we have questions out to them. We won’t hold our breath for any kind of real response though. If this stuff is legit then it’s probably just a teaser to what should be one action packed E3 this year.
Our question to all of you is do you think these images are real or are they just the creation of some overly zealous fan?
