You heard us right it seems that Asurion is all out of the original Droid Incredible. What does that mean you ask? Well in the event that you drop your phone out of a window, drop it in garbage disposal, or otherwise obliterate your current Droid Incredible you won’t get a new one as replacement. It seems that as of late, when people have been putting in claims for their Incredible’s they are being told that their only option is to receive a new Motorola Droid X. Most folks will agree that from a technical specifications standpoint the phones are very similar but that is about where the similarities stop. HTC uses their HTC Sense UI while Motorola uses Blur. While you can get use to anything most of you bought the original phone because you probably preferred Sense over Blur. We hear that the Droid X absolutely smokes the Droid Incredible when it comes to battery life which is a plus but it also comes with a locked bootloader which may not make those of you who like to “tweak” your phones very happy.
Honestly, I don’t mind them giving out a “comparable” phone if they no longer have your original phone in stock, I mean it happens. What I do have a problem with though is them changing the manufacturer of the phone, to me that has a huge affect on if the consumer considers the phone comparable. The issue here is what I mentioned in passing earlier which is the fact people pick phones not only for specifications but for presentation and lots of people simply prefer HTC’s UI over Motorola’s. With that said, if they can’t replace your phone with the exact model that you had I think they should at least keep it in the same manufacture family, so if you have a Motorola phone your replacement phone should always be a Motorola. What do you think, am I bugging or is Asurion tripping? Holla at us in the comments and speak your mind.
