Twisted Metal is making a comeback and in a big way it looks like. David Jaffe dropped in on the PlayStation Blog to give us a few updates about the game. Jaffe revealed that they will be unveiling for the first time Twisted Metal’s NUKE mode in just a few days to the press. That kind of sucks for those not part of the gaming press right, well not completely because next week they will drop the extended version of the Twisted Metal launch trailer that debuted on GameTrailers last night. The new trailer dives a bit deeper into the character stories of Sweet Tooth, Dollface, and Mr. Grimm, while also providing a bit more info on just what that creepy tower at the end of last night’s trailer is all about. You will even get your first glimpse of Calypso, the sinister mastermind behind all the pain, suffering, and chaos of the Twisted Metal contest.
Next week they will also be unveiling BATTLEWAGON! What/who the hell is Battlewagon you ask? Just the coolest, baddest-ass vehicle ever to dominate the car combat landscape! Apparently this a vehicle that the development team have been wanting to put in a Twisted Metal game since they made the very first one back in 1995. I don’t know about that folks, Sweet Tooth and his ice cream truck might have something to say about that.
Oh yeah, we did promise you that release date right? So Twisted Metal will be released October 4, 2011 and from now until release they will be showing more and more of what we can expect from the new game. Listen to David Jaffe explain this much better than we could write it.
