I know that I am going to be going against the grain on this one but even with the recent popularity of multiplayer in video games, I am still a huge fan of the single player experience. We just found out that Rockstar’s latest game L.A. Noire will take between 25-30 hours to complete according to their closed demo session at PAX. This makes a lot of people breathe a bit easier as it seems the more prevalent that multiplayer becomes the less attention developers are paying to building out robust single player experience.
This where Rockstar and Team Bondi are bucking the trend by creating a game that puts tons of focus on the single player campaign. For those of you that are thinking that L.A. Noire is going to be like Grand Theft Auto only set in the 40s and 50s then you are very mistaken, the game will be much closer to CSI: Fatal Conspiracy. L.A. Noire will feature quite a bit of gunplay but the main focus of the game will be on actually solving the 23 main “assigned cases”. The game will also feature several “unassigned cases” that will help fill out the backstory of other secondary characters in addition to other cases that will become available as DLC later on. May 17th is the day we get to start cracking cases and heads…if that is your style.
