If you can’t beat them – join them. Well, that’s sort of what this will be if it is true. According to “multiple trusted sources” for BGR, Research In Motion will be bringing their popular messaging service, BBM Messenger, to both Google’s Android and Apple iOS platforms.
What to expect? All bets are on a stripped down version of what true BBM owners have. According to the report, “Android and iOS users can communicate with practically anyone who has a smartphone using BBM, but they might not be able to share photos, location, or videos.”
Though pricing has not been finalized, the service has been rumored be free to all users. However, RIM could have a one-time or recurring fee. The Android App is ready to “go” and could launch some time this year, while the iOS version may take a while longer due to restrictions. So is this something you would be interested in?
