FindMakarov.com Doesn’t Unveil Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, But Rather Live Action Call Of Duty Fan Film
Sorry to disappoint all you folks out there that thought that MW3 was going to be revealed at FindMakarov.com. I mean it seemed plausible if a bit early that Activision would unveil Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in some odd way like this. Alas that is not the case, but it was one hell of a viral marketing campaign.
Turns out this was this was an elaborate orchestration edgy marketing company We Can Pretend. The campaign is for a Fan made Modern Warfare project and is in no way affiliated with Activision. Apparently the goal of the fan film trailer was to show Activision how they could properly adapt the multi-billion dollar gaming franchise into a Hollywood blockbuster. A series of Call Of Duty movies, I might be able to get with that if I didn’t think that Hollywood would just screw it up. If they were smart they would let these guys run it, its pretty damn good if we do say so ourselves.
“Find Makarov” was directed by We Can Pretend’s Nir Zahavi, the company’s design director Patrick Lo wrote the script and David Fradkin produced it. So without further ado check out “Finding Makarov” and let us know what you think. For all you hardcore Call Of Duty fans out there pay attention because if you watch closely you will see parts of the trailer pulled right out of the games. As far as copyright issues go apparently We Can Pretend has been in contact with Activision so don’t expect to see any legal action about this from them.
