Ah the boot screen, we see it every time we restart our phones which to be honest if your phone is any good shouldn’t be that often. Alas, when you do have to restart your phone though, a cool boot screen can help the monotony of waiting. Back in the day boot screens weren’t focused on for their aesthetic appeal, they were meant to be informative, but very light as to allow for fast bootups. Somewhere along the way someone figured out you could add pretty cool boot animations to devices without adding to the overall boot time that much and thus the aesthetically pleasing boot screen was born. Android is known for its unique bootscreen and Honeycomb seems to be taking that a bit further.
Courtesy of the good folks over at TechCrunch we get to check out the new boot screen for Android 3.0 (a.k.a. Honeycomb). The screen has been revamped to take on a graphic that pretty much embodies its namesake which to me further emphasizes why they shouldn’t call this OS Android, they should really come up with a new name since it won’t ever be coming to smartphones. Anyway, check the vid, its not great quality since it was kind of shot on the fly but its clear enough for you to get the gist. What do you think of the new bootscreen?
