Now AT&T Takes Android Seriously, Will Launch 12 New Android Devices In 2011
Well, well well. As we stand on the verge of the iPhone finally coming to Verizon, it seems AT&T has finally found reason to take Android seriously. With their golden goose all but gone, AT&T is about to ramp up its support for Android by releasing 12 brand new Android phones in 2011. The flood will start with the Motorola ATRIX 4G, the HTC Inspire 4G and the Samsung Infuse 4G. According to a report by Phandroid, they have acquired an alleged internal document from AT&T that describes the whole deal. Right now that works out to about one new phone a month and that doesn’t even count the few phones that they are sure to have up their sleeves that we don’t even know about yet. The document also reiterates AT&T’s commitment to deliver at least 20 4G devices this year which reaffirms what the carrier said back at CES.
What do you all think, is there still time for Android to take hold at AT&T? Is this good or bad for AT&T in general?
