Mark Zuckerberg Can’t Shut Down Facebook, Rumors Of Facebook Shutdown Untrue

This is just plain absurd on multiple levels. First, the fact that a site which we won’t bother linking to would even report this, an obvious ruse intended to attract hits. The next is that folks would some how even believe this. Facebook has over 500 million people and literally billions and billions of dollars invested in it. Facebook may still be private and Mark Zuckerberg may still own the majority of the company, but at the end of the day its still a company. What that means is that Mark Zuckerberg himself couldn’t shut Facebook down, the company has a board and it has investors and because of that it’s not happening.

The site in question reported that Zuckerberg said that “he wanted his old life back” and “was tired of all the madness”. That may be so but none of that is going to result in the shut down of Facebook. The bottom line on that is that if Mark Zuckerberg wanted to leave Facebook right now, he could and he would be a billionaire many times over once he did. Right now its hard to even confirm if he even said it at all and whether it may have been taken out of context. It seems outrageous to think people would even believe this save Facebook groups have already started to pop up on where else Facebook.

Facebook is not going away, in fact after closing a latest round of financing where they took in $500 million dollars on a $50 billion dollar valuation I would bet they will only become even more ubiquitous in our everyday lives from this point on. If you believe this one, then I got a Facebook phone in my office that I want to sell you.
