Verizon Wireless is holding a media event this coming Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Lincoln Center in New York City. Okay, it’s not a secret anymore. The Verizon iPhone will be launched at some point. What has me baffled is whether or not this will be the stage its’ announced on. Some media outlets have stated that Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs, will be in attendance at this Verizon event. Whether or not that happens is speculative at best. However, I think that scenario is the only way the Verizon iPhone is announced.
So let’s just say that Tuesday is the day for the announcement. Who makes the announcement – Verizon’s Lowell McAdam or Apple’s Steve Jobs? There is no conventional wisdom to go on here. Verizon has called the event, which would make many believe it’s their show, but I just don’t think Apple and Steve Jobs will let this happen in an all Big Red fashion. Until Tuesday, we’ll have to speculate. So what do you think? Who do you think will make the biggest announcement since perhaps everything that starts with an “i”?
