Back in October, Sony began testing their own rewards program – aptly named PlayStation Rewards – to do exactly what Nintendo and Microsoft has also recently done. While still in the Beta, the program is offering much of the same thing: being active on the forums, downloading additions to your game and earning trophies on your game library mantle. Allowing you the option of Select, Pro or Legendary, the free swag as apparently been “astounding.”
Seemingly to combat Microsoft’s Xbox Live Rewards however, Sony announced another set of goodies to the program, simply called “Quests.” Ideally, the way it works is a matter of distinct catchphrases, giving you the opportunity to earn more. Aimed at showing off some of the other things associated with your PlayStation, examples like “Check your Pulse” would hint at watching an episode of their series The Pulse,
Others have been said to include a “Move it” quest that gives you the chance to earn goodies, just by playing a Move-based game. Considering how much effort and care Sony has put into the program (and the fact that it will be free to everyone), the only question you really have to ask yourself is why shouldn’t you join up?
