Tomb Raider fans rejoice as it looks like Lara Croft is once again on her way to consoles but this time in a full retail game which means that unlike the recently released Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light, it won’t be a downloadable game off the XBLA and the PSN. As good as the Guardian of Light was I think that this game will benefit from being a full retail release as Crystal Dynamics can include more content and generally have a higher quality product overall.
Here begins the journey for a young and inexperienced Lara Croft in a story which charts the journey of an ordinary woman who finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive. “Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider,” said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics. “This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other.”
The game (which is a prequel) which for now is simply titled “Tomb Raider” will make its debut in the January issue of Game Informer features 10 pages of exclusive content and is available beginning today for subscribers and on newsstands December 11 so pick up a copy to get the first information on this exciting new title.
