According to a post by ZDNet, Dell executives indicated that component costs fell dramatically in the last quarter anddelllogo they believe that eventually it will translate into savings for consumers. The cost of everything from memory to LCD screens saw a drop in their overall cost to PC makers in the third quarter which gave a nice bump to all your favorite PC makers from Dell to HP.

Gladden noted was quoted as saying “As we look at component pricing, we saw what we would call a more normalized commodity deflation environment in the quarter. And, as we think about how that trends going forward, we will continue to see a similar environment I think as we head into the fourth quarter. We will begin to see, I believe, that deflation really work its way through the supply chain and affect pricing over the next couple of quarters.”

So there you have it folks, it seems that there should be a decent price drop on the way across the entire PC sector in the coming months. If any of you are like me then you are in the market for a new PC but you definitely want to get the best price and this latest info tells me that if we can just be patient and wait a while then in a month or two we will be able to get a lot more for our money. Just a suggestion.
