Video Games Live, the premier orchestral event for anyone that has a love for games or live music, has just announced a 42-city tour that started yesterday and will run all the way till June 8th. Starting yesterday in Michigan, the ensemble of strings, drums, electronic instruments, and cavalcade of lights and special effects will make its way across the nation (making a pitstop in Russia and France) to land finally in California in the summer.

The event, which started in 2005, was the creative idea of Tommy Tallarico, one of the industries biggest composers and designers. Taking some of the top orchestra and choir performers in the country, VGL allows viewers to experience some of their favorite games in ways that they never have before: Halo, Mario, Legend of Zelda, Tetris, Final Fantasy, Mass Effect and many more are shown for your aural and viewing pleasure.

So the real question is: when will the show be coming around to where you live? You can head over to their site and find out about times and where tickets can be purchased, but be warned: tickets are already selling out so you need to plan ahead.
