T-Mobile G2 Software Update Rolling Out Now, Say Hello To “Wi-Fi Calling”

Hey G2 users, T-Mobile has announced that that your smartphone’s software update will begin rolling out today. Here is the actual message that is on the Support Forums website, which includes the new features:

A software update for the T-Mobile G2 with Google (version 1.22.531.8) will be begin rolling out customers, starting today.  The software will automatically download to your device, and you will receive an installation notification when download is complete.  If you choose not to install when prompted, you can go to Menu>Settings>About phone>System updates to install the update.

This software update offers a new feature, Wi-Fi Calling for Android, as well as provides several fixes and enhancements to issues seen since launch:

•        Wi-Fi Calling for Android – new!

•        Resolves device freeze and unexpected power-off issues

•        Improves data connection reliability

•        Optimizes radio recovery

So as soon as you receive your update, come back and let us know how the new changes are helping or hurting you. We especially want to know about the quality of your Wi-Fi calls.
