AOL.com Gets A Face Lift, Rolling Out Now

AOL used to be hip, in fact it was on its way to being quite an iconic brand and then they bought Time Warner. At that point, all the innovative and fresh things that they were doing seemed to dry up and they become a poster child for tech companies who seemed to “get” it before the bubble burst but then failed to deliver on all the potential that they showed.

Fast forward to 2010 and AOL has finally unwound themselves from all the pesky distractions of Time Warner and are back to being an aggressive tech driven company and their recent rash of of acquisitions seem to support that. When you are in the process of reinventing yourself and rebranding yourself then you have to pretty much say out with the old and in with the new. What better way to start a new chapter in the company’s history than giving their main homepage a new look. I still think that it’s a little bit behind the times but its definitely a step in the right direction, what do you think?
