Borderlands Game Of The Year Edition Hits Stores With A Big Bonus

2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced that Borderlands Game of the Year Edition is now available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. However, what is making people start to look ahead, is that something has been attached, and that something has been big news in the biz recently. So big, we thought it would never show up.

The GOTY of Borderlands will include the Borderlands stand-alone game, its entire downloadable add-on library, and a fold-out map.  In addition, it will include a certificate for the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club. A number of people have been waiting for this game for some time and, if you’ve heard any of the hype surrounding Duke Nukem Forever, you know this stands to be an enticing addition.

This certificate will grant a number of bonuses, including early access to a playable demo of the long-anticipated game.  I’m not exactly drooling over the recently announced Duke Nukem Forever game, but I admit I liked Duke Nukem 3D and certainly wouldn’t mind seeing how the new one will play out.

But, back to Borderlands.  The downloadable content this packed edition will include is: The Zombie Island or Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution.

If you should already happen to have the game, the downloadable content is also available separately on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points and on the Playstation Store and PC for $9.99. And Duke Nukem Forever has finally officially been slated for release in 2011.  Like many, I’ll believe it when I see it, but it sounds like they’re serious this time around.
