RealPlayer’s Still Alive, Apparently, And Has A New Version

I kinda thought RealPlayer had gone the way of the dodo but apparently not.  Yesterday, RealMedia launched their new RealPlayer. It’s still technically in beta but you can download it now and give it a try.  More after the break.

At this point in time, media players are ubiquitous.  VLC, Media Player Classic, Windows Media Player, iTunes, Winamp…you name it.  And, of course, everyone will have their own preferences – so I’m sure there are still a number who use RealPlayer.

The new version will offer many of the features common to free media players – the ability to keep your music, video, and photos organized in one player; copy videos to portable devices; import photos from other devices; sync playlists between devices; trim videos on the fly; and share them with friends over social networks.

For those so inclined, there’ll be an optional upgrade to RealPlayer Plus available in October for $39.99.

Head on over to Real’s site and snag the beta for a look at the new player!
