According to Reuters and statements made from Kazuo Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, the PS3 should meet its’ forecasted sales for 2010. Hirai stated that “As of the end of August, sales look a bit better than we expected.” For some this may come as a surprise after research group NPD said “retail sales of videogame equipment and software in the United States fell 10 percent in August.” But if you consider strong possible sales with the Kinect and a successful holiday season, Sony may indeed hit their target.
