This isn’t a surprise since back when they first announced the program they did give Sept. 30th as the deadline for the program. At a post-press conference, Apple said that they would “evaluate” if they needed to prolong the program and obviously they didn’t feel they needed too.
In a statement on its website, Apple has confirmed the free case program will be discontinued for all iPhone 4’s sold after September 30th, and the return policy for the smartphone will return to normal. In a show of classic Apple arrogance, they stated on the website that “We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought”. In any case, if you want or need that case you better get your request in now.
