Goers to the PAX convention this year, got a surprise visitor from the Clinton Administration today, in the form of a crude-mouthed, cigar smoking, flattop sporting, muscle head. Sadly, Jean Claude van Dam was nowhere to be seen, yet second-best Duke Nukem was there to help welcome in the long-waited return for one of the industries most anticipated sequels in history.
2KGames, the people responsible for the popular BioShock series, and had just recently made waves with their announcement with BioShock Infinite, has literally burned the beehive. “All great things take time… a lot of time,” laughs Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “After a hiatus from the video game world, Duke Nukem is back and better than ever…” People lucky enough to graze past the 2K tent were able to get a glimpse of gameplay, seeing what both 2KGames and Gearbox Software has been up to in nearly a decade. ‘
