Back in June when the UK and Japan had a price drop on the suggested retail prices for the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL systems, we were left wondering when we would receive it here in the States and all of North America. Well, today Nintendo of America has issued a press release stating those changes. Beginning September 12, the new suggested retail price of the Nintendo DSi system will be $149.99, while the new suggested retail price for the Nintendo DSi XL system will be $169.99. The Nintendo DS™ Lite model will remain at a suggested retail price of $129.99.
It sure looks like Nintendo is trying to sell as many Nintendo DS systems before they release the much anticipated Nintendo 3DS. BTW, could this mean a release date for the 3DS around Christmas – we certainly hope so.
