Sony announced this morning that after 52 million PlayStation accounts active worldwide, and with nearly 1 billion in content downloads, they had two new consoles to ship out to alleviate any potential full hard drives. A 160 GB model that ships into stores today at $299.99 will replace the already seated 120 GB model. Meanwhile, when the Move Sports Pack arrives on September 7th, you can have something a tad bigger.
With an extended 320 GB hard drive and the included Move Bundle, the attached $399.99 price tag is worth the wait till September 7th, especially if you’re new to the Sony Universe. With the ever-expanding universe of downloadable content, and Microsoft’s recent storage upgrade, it’s no small wonder that Sony has finally done their upgrade, and done so accordingly. The issue now that could occur is that instead of a battle on quality, it will be a battle on quantity. With consoles focusing on downloadable material, could the focus potentially shift to that, instead of a future console?
