If you have never heard of Metro 2033, it’s either because you don’t own the game on a PC or Xbox 360… or because it wasn’t a high-selling game. However, The post-apocalypse shooter could have an encore showing on the Playstation 3 in the form of Metro 2034 “within the next few years.” Taking the reins of Russian Artynom, you are some of the last remaining humans living underground in Moscow after the Earth’s surface has been destroyed. Needing to leave for whatever reason, you set out on a first person shooting adventure filled with dark alleys, creeped out mutants, Putan knows what else to try and save all of humanity.
While the storyline and game dynamic may not have thrilled many, THQ and Core Games Vide President Danny Bilson all but confirmed that the sequel, Metro 2034, “would show up within the next couple of years.” This makes more sense to the writer of the novel that the game was based off of, Dmitry Glukhovsky. Considering how converting the available game from say PC to PS3 would take at least six months, taking the extra time and build up a better product just seems like the smarter alternative.
Not exactly a confirmed report, but it’s something to get you through those cold, dark Russian nights.
