Ubisoft has announced their latest addition to the Prince Of Persia series, The Forgotten Sands, is now available to buy for the PS3 in retail stores across the US. The Forgotten Sands is scheduled for release in Europe on May 21st 2010.

Rather than following on from the cell-shaded reboot of the series currently available on the PS3, Ubisoft has returned to its roots, expanding on the original Prince Of Persia trilogy of games that were released for the PS2. The Forgotten Sands introduces a new storyline, new characters and new powers over time and nature. It takes its place between the first two games, Prince Of Persia The Sands Of Time and its darker sequel Price Of Persia Warrior Within. The reboot of the series took away the ability to manipulate time, prevented you from ever being able to die and was criticized by many fans of the original series for being too easy, but fortunately The Forgotten Sands takes us back to the good old days, bringing back the increased difficulty, challenge and excitement.

Whilst visiting his brother’s kingdom following his previous adventure in The Sands Of Time, the Prince finds the palace under siege by a mighty army and when the decision is made to use the ancient power of the Sands in a desperate gamble to save the kingdom from total destruction the Prince once again finds himself propelled into an epic adventure. Along the way he will learn to bear the mantle of true leadership and discover that great power often comes at great cost. The Forgotten Sands is rated T for Teen and is available at the RRP of $59.99.
