In a recent interview with OXM, Patrice Désilets of Ubisoft Montreal revealed some new details concerning Assassin’s Creed 2.
One major change in Assassin’s Creed 2 is the number of mission types. In AC1, there was a maximum of only five or six different types of missions. This caused repetitiveness in the game, which was one of the major criticisms from reviewers. Mr. Désilets says that in Assassin’s Creed 2, however, there are at least fifteen different mission types. These missions will range from escorting people to performing executions.
Mr. Désilets also confirmed that there will be over 100 side missions in the game. This is on top of the 100 or so main missions that will be included in the story. Each of the side missions will be tied into the actual narrative, so players will have a reason for completing them this time around. The side missions will range from assassinating targets to carrying and delivering certain goods. By completing these side missions, players will earn money to buy weapons and upgrades.
We also have confirmation that Assassin’s Creed 2 is solely a single-player game. NO MULTIPLAYER, SORRY KIDS.
Assassin’s Creed 2 is due out on November 17th for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Stay tuned for more information.
