As I was sitting here today, a very simple question came to me and at first I didn’t really know my own answer. For someone who plays as many games as I do sometimes they all just run together. I have played the best and the worst of them, everything from Overlord: Raising Hell to Grand Theft Auto 4 which to me represent the best and worse that the gaming industry has to offer. So then I asked myself, what makes me keep some games and hold onto them and why do others I so easily get rid of. To answer the question I looked in my gaming chest and evaluated what was in there and more importantly what had been in there more than 6 months and out of the all the games in there, only 3 fit that bill.
What makes us keep some games and get rid of others?
That’s right for all the games I have played and reviewed, only 3 of them had I kept that long. Those three games were NBA 2K9, Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution and Call of Duty: World at War. I guess that collection of games says something about me, but what? When I really thought about it, it was pretty simple. I kept NBA 2K9 because I am a big basketball fan and for some reason that game is just very fun to me. Civilization Revolution I just love because no two games you play on it are the same, its challenges me mentally, and when you are bored it’s definitely a time eater. Finally, Call of Duty because well I have rule that I never get rid of a COD until a new one comes out, I mean you never know when you will have to jump online and take out a little aggression. But I suppose that is a relatively small number of games compared to how many I play. I know some of you just don’t get rid of games at all, that you just like to grow your collections and that is cool.
What I really want to know from the readers is what games do you have that you can’t seem to get rid of and why?
